Triathlon

Things are going great! I signed up for the "Women of Steel" triathlon in May... Ahhhh I'm so nervous! I don't know how to swim or ride a bike really, so this will be an experience! I'm all registered and paid for, so I can't back out now! Yesterday I got a swim cap and goggles, and signed up for my local rec center so I can take spin classes and master swim. Yikes!

Running is going great - Melissa and I go 3 times a week, and we are on Week 2 of the "Couch to 5k" program. Next week we'll go on to week 3! (We stay on a "week" for more than an actual week... haha) I got some nice warm running pants to wear under my sweats, so Winter - bring on the cold!

I have been replacing my nighttime snack with a "Craig" nighttime snack, which means he gets to choose it and I have to eat it! Of course he always picks carrots, or edamame, or oranges, or some other type of fruit or vegetable. He's great! I also gave up candy (except candy canes. Tis the season!) and fast food. So far I'm doing great! I've lost 4 pounds in the last couple weeks.

Also, I've got my pit crew together! Craiggy, JD, Melissa, Kristin and Melanie! They are my support team to get me through this 90 days (which is no longer 90 days)! Thanks guys! It's such a blessing to have friends and family who love and support me so much.

Building Momentum

So far things are going really well. I am starting to make my small steps that will take me to the finish line! This week I found a healthy chicken recipe to put in my "healthy recipe book", made a list of 5 healthy snacks, and tomorrow I give up candy! (I had to deplete my Halloween supply first) I also ran this morning, and plan to on Friday. I would have gone Monday but I have had a major migraine/flu thing since Monday. It's quite a miracle that I went today! Hopefully I'll be better soon so I can be doing more. I feel lazy just laying on the couch being sick.
